Dr. Deborah Williams, Assistant Principal
Hello!
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to what promises to be an exceptional school year
at the Golden Isles College and Career Academy (GICCA)!
To our Parents and Guardians:
At GICCA, your child will be supported and encouraged as they pursue their academic and
career goals. Our hands-on learning environment offers unique opportunities for students to
collaborate with peers who share similar interests and talents. These experiences not only
enhance learning but also foster teamwork, motivation, and mutual success. Many of these
partnerships and experiences may lead to long, rewarding careers. At GICCA, we’re not just
building future employees—we’re building future leaders.
If you ever have questions or would like to discuss anything regarding your student, please do
not hesitate to reach out. I am here to help and support you in any way I can. Together, we can
lay a strong foundation for your child’s future success in college, career, and beyond.
Experience and Education:
I have over 30 years of experience in Education.
I have held various roles, most of which spanned multiple years. My responsibilities included
serving as an End of Pathway Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, Graduation
Coach, Sixth Grade Academy Specialist, Department Chair, and Team Leader.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching courses in CTAE, high school,
middle school, and elementary school.
Throughout my career, I have had the unique opportunity of leading at both high schools in
Glynn County, and I also had the unique privilege of serving at my alma mater in McIntosh
County. Today, I have the incredible opportunity to work with students from all three local high
schools—right here at GICCA. What a privilege it is to witness and contribute to their growth!
My educational journey has truly come full circle. While in high school in McIntosh, I took
advanced courses. I also participated in the nursing assistant program and was fortunate enough
to work in health care for a number of years. Although I did not continue in health care, I learned
so much about the world of work, specifically work ethics and professionalism, through those
experiences. They are what helped to lay the foundation for which I was able to build a
successful career.
My educational background includes a Doctorate from the University of West Florida in
Curriculum and Instruction: Assessment, a Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction, a Specialist
in Educational Leadership, a Master’s in Leadership, and a Bachelor’s in Education.
I enjoy spending quality time with my family, particularly my grandchildren. I am also an avid
traveler, always seeking new adventures and experiences. I have a passion for technology and
love exploring new tools. I also love to read and binge on great movies and shows.
