Does GICCA provide transportation?
Yes! We provide transportation to and from the 2 base high schools twice daily. Students taking GICCA classes for 1st and 2nd block will go to their base high school first thing in the morning and then will ride the bus to GICCA. They will return to their base high schools for lunch.
Students taking GICCA classes for 3rd and 4th block will ride the bus to GICCA right after lunch and then will return to their base high schools in time to ride their regular buses home.
Are students still eligible to attend college after high school if they take GICCA classes?
Yes!
All courses taken at GICCA count toward a college preparatory high school diploma. In addition, many courses taken at GICCA receive dual enrollment credit from Coastal Pines Technical college, giving students a jump start on their college careers.
GICCA is not a Vocational School, many of our Pathways, including Exercise Science, Dental Science, Patient Care, A/V Technology & Film, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Graphic Arts, Culinary Arts and Agriculture are designed to give students knowledge and experience that will give them a leg up when they continue to pursue these areas at a 4 year college.
Other Pathways, like Carpentry, Electrical, Welding, Automotive Repair and Collision Repair are designed to allow students to go straight into the workforce upon graduation. However, students can elect to continue their education at a 2 year Technical College like Coastal Pines Technical College and any dual-enrollment credits they earned at GICCA will transfer to the 2 year Technical College. In addition, they may still also elect to attend a 4 year college like the College of Coastal Georgia.
My student is homeschooled or attends private school. Can they still attend GICCA?
Yes!
We have many homeschool and private school students who attend GICCA. Students will need to be partially enrolled in Glynn County Schools to be eligible to attend here. Contact us at 912-280-4000 so we can explain the process.
Can adults attend GICCA?
Sorry, GICCA is only available to Glynn County students in 9th through 12th grades. However, our partner institution Coastal Pines Technical College offers many of the same programs and they will be happy to help you enroll in the program that is right for you.
I've heard that students can work in the community for class credit and get paid, how does this work?
Work-Based Learning is available to students in 11th and 12th grades. They must be at least 16 years old, must have a 2.5 GPA or higher, and be on track for graduation. You can view all the details of this program on the Work-Based Learning page.

Why aren't these classes just offered at the High Schools?
GICCA is a huge facility, we have over 120,000 square feet of classroom and laboratory space. In addition, we are centrally located near many of our business and industry partners, creating a seamless interaction between education and industry.
GICCA Pathways are all part of a student's CTAE Education (Career, Technical and Agricultural Education). All Glynn County students will take some CTAE Courses in Middle and High School. Some CTAE Pathways are offered at the high schools. These are programs that do not requires LARGE labs and include Teacher Education, Business, Marketing and Hospitality Management among others.
