Connecting Educators to Industry: Announcing Our 2024–2025 Educator Externship Cohort
Here in the Golden Isles, we know that when our community comes together, incredible things happen for our students. That is why we are so thrilled to share some exciting news about a project close to our hearts!
This year, 26 outstanding Glynn County Schools educators are stepping into local businesses for a unique, four-day immersive externship experience. Joining forces with colleagues from McIntosh County Schools, the College of Coastal Georgia, and Coastal Pines Technical College, these teachers will get an inside look at the thriving workforce right here in our backyards.
Through behind-the-scenes visits and direct access to local employer partners, our teachers will explore high-demand careers, learn about the critical skills employers are searching for, and uncover the endless opportunities waiting for our graduates.
By connecting our educators directly to local industry leaders, we are helping them build classroom lessons that reflect the real-world skills our students need to succeed. Connecting educators to industry is truly one of the best ways we can connect our kids to their futures!
This hands-on experience wouldn't be possible without our generous local employer partners. We extend our deepest gratitude to the following organizations for opening their doors and investing in our educators and students:
- Dynamic Landscape
- Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC)
- Jekyll Island Authority
- King and Prince Seafood
- Okefenoke Rural EMC
- Sea Island Company
- Southeast Georgia Health System (SGHS)
- Wallenius Wilhelmsen
