The Golden Isles College and Career Academy (GICCA) Video Game Design Pathway introduces students to the multi-billion dollar digital entertainment sector by teaching the mechanics of immersive video game creation.

Program Overview

This modern training track balances creative world-building with rigorous technical execution, allowing students to build playable projects across multiple platforms.

  • Interactive World-Building: Students learn to develop original virtual worlds, writing character biographies, storyboards, and interactive storylines.
  • Gameplay Mechanics: Coursework focuses heavily on designing custom levels, balancing risk/reward loops, and configuring core player progression.
  • Industry Certifications: The pathway prepares students for key milestones, including passing professional industry exams like the Unity Certified User test.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Students gain experience working in production teams, bridging the gap between artistic mockups and basic layout constraints.
  • Career Portfolio Development: Enrolled students create concrete, playable prototypes that serve as a foundational portfolio for higher education or digital arts fields.
